Erie, PA based family , newborn, and wedding photographer.
When it comes to the first photos of your little one the best way I can serve you is in my studio! Let me explain why I only do studio newborn photography instead of in-home sessions. So many things can be beneficial such as having access to props, lighting, the client closet, and a stress-free environment!
A huge benefit to doing a studio session is that you will have access to all the props in my studio! I have a large selection of fabric backdrops, wraps, hats, bows, buckets, bowls, and outfits. All of these ranging in colors and texture so that you can choose the ones you like the most.
These props all are organized and placed within my studio which would make it very hard to carry it all back and from from home to home.
Featuring Newborn Props from HelloLittle and Newborn Nerds.
Controlled lighting is a HUGE reason to come to the studio for my studio newborn photography! While it may seem like your house gets a lot of light during the day, there are many, many factors that go into lighting for a newborn session.
The space is set up to guarantee the outcome you want with your images and keeping my work cohesive. We have two 80″ off-camera flashes, along with our lifestyle area for natural lighting.
Listen, I know you just had a baby and that you’re focused on healing and getting into a routine. This typically mean the dishes are stacked up, laundry is piling up, and the house now is filled with diapers and wipes… and all the other random baby items you never knew you needed, haha! Let the house stay that way, don’t worry about how your house looks for photos! The studio has a bedroom and living room set up to make it feel very homey. Leave the cleaning to me!
I have created a collection of dresses and outfits for mamas and kids for you to choose from. This makes it so that going out and shopping for the whole family is one less thing you have to do.
The Client closet is located at the studio for all mamas and kiddos to use! This is another aspect of the studio that would be very hard to carry from house to house. Be sure to schedule your wardrobe consult prior to having baby so that you can an idea of what items you would like to try on when you arrive for your newborn session.
I have a workflow I have perfected over the last 1.5 years while photographing newborns. When I am in the studio, I can move efficiently to maximize our time together. Therefore you’ll be feeling like these two did:
“Stevee captured one of the most special time periods in our lives – newborn photographs of our first child. From the first contact, Stevee was fully devoted to ensuring we were receiving exactly what we envisioned. She was so patient with Lincoln and captured every little detail. We cannot wait for her to photograph for us again in the future.”
PS. Joe had a cast on his arm due to a work accident and we had to be very mindful of how we posed him because Kerrigan didn’t want the cast in the photos haha but I think you wouldn’t even know by looking at her gallery!
