1. Choose a color palette to follow

The best thing you can do when planning your family photos is stick with a color palette. What this does is keeps your focus when searching for outfits for your family members.

I provide my clients with a guide that gives you the best combinations for my editing style so that the colors don’t clash!

2. Schedule a consult

With some of my packages, I give clients the option to utilize my client closet. This allows you to not only save money on buying clothes but also, really be able to plan a cohesive combination of outfit choices. Madison had a wardrobe consult where we discussed her ideas for this session and the vibe she was going for.

3. Keep in mind your location

When it comes to outdoor sessions, what’s on your feet, the weather, and the surrounding all matter. For example, this session took place in an open field during summertime. Keeping that in mind, the recommended shoe would be something that allows you to move and be free within the field. So maybe leave the heels at home for this one!

Another thing to keep in mind is the temperature. When you’re outside wearing clothes that make you comfortable with the conditions can also influence the images. Nothing is worse than feeling uncomfortable or out of place during a family session.
